Armored Ashura 2

"Meh..."

submission: Armored Ashura 2
date: December 16, 2009

It was ok but not something I would play again. It would be nice if you had some room to move on the screen instead of having a million bullets on the screen with the baddies coming at you from every angle where no matter where you move you get hit and the don't fire to charge weapons thing has got to go. Toss in a power up that fills up the power bar a little at a time and then press space or something to use it when you really need it. Also the mouse control/fire setup is a bad move. Switch out the mouse for WASD or even arrow key control and use A or S or something to shoot.

Make a few improvments on the controls, the power ups, and the ammount of bullets on the screen and this might become a great game. One more thng--add a health bar..the 3 hit and die thing is really annoying since you get hit 3 times just a few seconds into the game with a million bullets on the screen at once.

"REALLY BAD!!!"

Usually if I see nothing but low reviews on a game I stay away from it...but this one I decided to give it a go...and now I see where all the 0 star rewiews came from. This game is BEYOND BAD!!! I mean a zombie bird?!? And if that's not bad enough it kills you with 1 hit?!? Also why are the targets so small? I mean if you made the zoms bigger, took out the birds and the 1 hit kills and put in an auto relaod (since every time I died I was trying to click on the ammo pile to reload) and maybe some kind of timer that displayed how much time was left until sunrise the game would be A LOT better

Moonlight Sonata: The Den

"Great Game. But..."

date: December 9, 2009

This was a very good game, I liked the plot the gameplay the useage of "scraps" to upgrade...but I do have a few problems that took a few points off:

1. The weapons seemed to be rather weak...I had found the revolver, the crossbow, the carbine and the sawed off. And all of them were really weak as far as firepower went. When I found the sawed off I was like "Great! Fully upgrade this bad boy and look out Lupains." But I took 3 shots just to bring down a regular wolf. I know you wanted to make it a challenge in the later stages but 3 shotgun blasts to take out a wolf...that's just insane

2. Instead of searching for scraps and weapons have the weapons already on hand but in disrepair and you need the scraps to get them back in working order...the odds of finding a good powerful weapon not very good and having the ability to "buy" better wepons instead of hoping to find one is alot better in my book.

3. Instead of wasting the daylight hours to repair AND search have a reapir function that you can use without eating up time--have the baddies drop scraps as well and you can use the scraps as "money" to repair as well as upgrade. If you had a bad wave and you're near zero on your barricade and you use up say 8 or 9 hours to repair you're not gonna find anything to help you get though the 14 days.

That's about it. I might tweak the aiming a little...it's a little hard to try and move to where a Lupian is to get a good shot if you have 8 of them coming at you at once, if you can just stay in one place and still get kills it'd be a little easier.

Also...in reguard to Frederik77's post that it was "too easy" it sounds like you might have played the game a little but died fairly early on--possibly the 1st or 2nd wave--since you obvoiusly know nothing about the upgrades to the weapons you find which are cruical to kill the baddies in later waves as they get stronger. You must be trying to save face for not doing so well.

Field Goal!

"BAD!!!"

submission: Field Goal!
date: November 29, 2009

When I saw Field Goal I thought "Great a football game!" But then I played it. Now playing football in highschool and college I agree that wind speed and direction can be a factor in kicking but NOT like way you have it.

If the wind of blowing from the East at 4 mph and you angle your kick to the West it's gonna be good since you took the wind into account (also a 4 mph wind will NOT blow a kick way off to the left/right like you have it)

Also, although it's been a while since I played football...when I played I was told that if the ball went though the opening between the goalposts it was good. Now I must've done that 5 or 10 times--not even bothing to use the crosshair-- and it was called no good. Have the rules for a field goal changed? Do i have to get the ball though a certain spot in the opening in this game? Do I have to be right on target with you little crosshair thing--which by the wat is totally useless since the ball never goes where you set the target.

You should rework the game; add in a power and height guage so you can set the power and height you want and make the wind effects more real word... As I mentioned a 4mph wind WILL NOT blow a kicked pigskin that far off course.

Savage Huskies

"One of the WORST fighting games I ever played"

submission: Savage Huskies
date: November 22, 2009

Anyone that knows me knows I'm a gamer. I like almost all games exept for first person shooters--the aim is always WAY off on those games--at least it is in my opinion. But this isn't a first person shooter...it's a fighting game--one of my faves. Where you can beat the snot out of everything that moves/gets in your way and not feel guilty about it. BUT...with this one there is a problem...Don't get me wrong, the banc story took A LOT of work and imagination--kudos to you on that and I do like the idea of being in a huge robot, kinda reminds me of Mecha Crusade or Gundam. But my compliments end there.

1. First, It seems like your enimies are WAY more powerful than you, have long range weapons that hit you when your not even in the line of fire, and if you happen to pick up one of their weapons--a gun or a chain--you get like 5 swings and it vanishes.

2. Another thing about the weapons it seems your enimies can use them ALOT better than you as well. I tried to get in close to a chain weilding one and I got hit 8 times before I even got close enough to land a hit and when I did try to hit it was blocked and i got hit 3 more times...so I lost half my HP to ONE foe.

3. Also the number of enimies on screen can be annoying as well; granted you are limited to 4, but if you have 4 super powered foes--which seem to be EVERY ONE you face. You're running low on HP, which is all the time so you have to burn through your special attacks and pray for a HP drop and if you don't you might as well resign yourself to the fact you'll be using another continue.

4. Another thing. Why is it that you can get hit with bullets, missels, lasers and punches even when you not even lined up with a foe? You have to be right on point to land a hit yet your foes can hit you as long as you're somewhat close to them in ANY way, shape, or form. That really kills it for me.

I could go on and on. I could mention how you need more HP replenshing drops, more and better weapones for you player characters, do away when the 5 continue thing, allow your player character to use their secondary attack as much as their primary knee/punch attack, increase the walking/fighing speed of your player characters, and redo the aiming sothat you DON'T get hit if you not in the line of fire...the list goes on and on I suggest redoing the game so the fight mechanics are more beleivable and smoother, let combos flow into one another as you attack so you not just kneeing and punching over and over again.

It does have potential but it needs a lot of work...

"Not bad but not my kind of game"

submission: Juggerdome
date: October 26, 2009

First off the game is GREAT!! I like the concept and all but the controls are totally naffed. I mean first off I HATE the stupid WASD movement set up. second, you need to use the spacbar for 1 weapon set and the mouse to aim and fire another weapon set?!? If you have 4 arms this messed up control scheme might be possible to pull off; but I only have 2.

The game is perfect, don't change a thing--except make the Jugger and the baddies a lil bigger so you can see them a little better. You HAVE to redo the control scheme. Arrows for movement, A and D for the weapons. Very clean, simple and easy to pull off for those of us with only 2 arms

I'm sorry but this has got to be one of--if not THE worst games I've played. 1 hit and you die, no way to avoid getting shot, your plane and the ememy shots are WAY too big. I can go on and on about how bad this game is but I think I'll let all the other zero star and negative rewiews speak for themselves

"6 out of 10, Needs a little tweaking..."

submission: BloodRed

Not bad...not bad at all. But I would have liked a way to block/avoid the monsters; or even like a Super Bomb that wipes out all baddies on the screen. If there was a jump button you could use that if you're getting backed into a corner you can get out instead of just walking though the baddies and taking hit after hit after hit; even a block button would be nice, something with a timer or a damage guage that is slowly depleted over time, or perhaps a Super Bomb, a emergency only kind of thing that wipes out all baddies on the screen if you use it you have to buy it again

All in all a good game, but you do need a way to block/avoid or wipe out the monsters. I got to wave 4 before I was mobbed and died. Just a little tweaking and a good game will be elevated to a GREAT game.

PS: One other thing that I would like to add...maybe you could increase the players walking speed, make it an upgrade so that if a jump, block, or Super Bomb add on isn't possible you can at least move faster so that if you have to go though a mass of monsters you can do it quickly so you don't take as many hits.

Hold Them Back

"Unplayable"

submission: Hold Them Back
date: August 23, 2009

I'm sorry for the low score, but you need to have better controls. I LOVE Defense Games, I play them all the time, but this one, I'm sorry to say is unplayable. First you need a crosshhair a bullseye, a laser targeting dot...SOMETHING to show where you're aiming; I use up half my ammo stock just trying to hit the first man.

Also, you need to able to reload BEFORE you run out of ammo, if you're facing 15 guys and you need to take a minute to reload your dead, make the reload button active all the time, NOT just when your run out.

Third, the controls need to be tweaked a little; all you can do is shoot at a 45 degree angle where as the ememy is coming at you from all angles. you need to be able to cover all around when your at war, not just 45 degrees, and also more than once I died because I went out of the play field or clicked on an add (the tageting cursor helps here as well so you dont click on an add or go outside of the field of play.)

I suggest possibly putting the last man (you) in the middle of a bigger field--maybe have a top-down view so you can get a better look at the terrain/incomng units, and add some kind of targening cursor. Also, consider the possibility of adding a health bar and upgrades.

Again, I'm sorry for the low score but this really needs to be redone with better controls and some form of targeting. Those are the 2 main issues, that really kill the game.
